Area Communities Invite Public to Join Holy Week, Easter Services In Hallettsville and Weimar
You are invited to join for Holy Week observances and the Easter celebration. Journey with us as we make our way from the triumphal entry into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday, to the Last Supper Jesus had with his disciples, to the sadness and suffering of Jesus nailed to the cross, and then the surprise on Easter morning.
Hallettsville Community
Let us come together as God’s People to celebrate the Triumphal Entry of Jesus the Christ. The Hallettsville Community Palm Service will be hosted by the Hallettsville Community Church located across from the Hallettsville Junior High School on Sunday, March 29 at 3 p.m. The Rev. Jerry Tanner will be this year’s preacher. Other local clergy and church leaders will be participating. Come for music, praise and the celebration of Jesus our King. The service is sponsored by the Hallettsville Area Ministerial Alliance. The offering received will go to support the ministry of Lavaca County’s ministry to the poor and needy through LAMB and its Manna Food Pantry and Thrift Store.
Weimar Community
Community Good Friday Service will be held on Friday, April 3, at 12:05 p.m., hosted at Calvary Baptist Church, 710 South Eagler Street, Weimar with Monsignor John Peters as preacher.
Such observances serve as a poignant reminder of the central message of Christianity— love, sacrifice, and forgiveness. Jesus gives His all for the sake of all.
Other local ministers will be participating—Rev. Herb Beyer of Faith Lutheran Church (Tri-County Cooperative Ministries, ELCA), Rev. Jimmy Watson of Weimar United Church, Rev. Grethe Delaney of Equippers Outreach, Rev. Glen Schoeneberg of Trinity Church, Rev. Mary Cline of First United Methodist Church, Msgr. John Peters and Rev. Rick Perkins of Calvary Baptist.
