Antiquers Poised to Descend On Fayette County Once Again
The population of northern Fayette County soared this week as vendors from across the world flocked to the Round Top and Warrenton areas for the Spring Antiques Show. Most venues officially open to the public Thursday. But a few early shoppers were strolling the fields Wednesday as vendors set up.
The Record stopped by David Lewis’ Rugvana tent across from Mandito’s in Round Top on Wednesday. Lewis’ nephew Dimitri was setting up displays of rugs from across the world.
“We’re known for machine- made rugs, but we also have hand-made rugs from Turkey, Pakistan, Iran, India, Nepal, Afghanistan” he said.
“I think it’s going to be a good show,” he added. “It’s spring time, the weather is nice, and I think people are going to want to come out.”
