Animal Shelter Update

As of Jan. 27, total intake for the Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter is 108: 70 dogs and 38 cats in need. As of Jan. 27, the shelter has 60 animals in care: 49 dogs and 11 cats. This number includes animals in the facility, in foster care for medical, waiting on available space, or awaiting transport to rescue partner.

Spay and neuter is the only way to manage the stray, unwanted dog and cat population in Fayette County. The shelter offers a discount voucher program for the citizens of Fayette County for the spay/neuter of family pets. Call (979) 9660021 for more information.
