American Legion Post 102 Presents Service Awards
The following awards were presented during the American Legion H. J. Ehlers Post 102 Christmas Party on Wednesday, Dec. 13, at the Veterans Hall located in the Fayette County Fair Grounds: The following members of the American Legion Post 102, were awarded Service Awards, ranging from 32 years to 49 years of service which included Gilbert Freudenburg, Melvin Schilling, Weldon Koenig, Glenn Altwein, John D. Marburger, J.R. Baca and Post Commander Richard Gray.
The following members of the American Legion Post 102 were awarded various Citations as indicated. The first was a Citation for Honorable Service as the Post Sergeant at Arms Weldon Koenig presented by Post Commander Richard Gray.
The American Legion Bronze Medal awarded to Jim Bramblett for his work identifying veteran graves in the La Grange Cemetery by Post Commander Richard Gray.
The American Legion Bronze Medal awarded to Ray Thurman for his work with the La Grange Little League by Post Commander Richard Gray.
The American Legion Bronze Medal awarded to John Battle for his work supporting parade entries and participating in ceremonies at the Fayette County Fair by Post Commander Richard Gray, with Awards Committee Chair Glenn Altwein.
The American Legion Silver Medal was awarded to J.R. Baca for his continued work of many years as Post Financial Officer by Post Richard Gray.
The American Legion Silver Medal was awarded to John D. Marburger for his many years of outstanding service as Post Judge Advocate & Boys State Chair by Post Commander Richard Gray.
The American Legion Silver Medal was awarded to Post Adjutant Mary Gray for her outstanding work as Adjutant for the past years by Post Commander Richard Gray.
The last award was the 2023 Legionnaire of the Year which was awarded by Post Adjutant Mary Gray and Post Awards Committee Chair Glenn Altwein to Post Commander Richard Gray for his great performance as Post Commander.
