The October meeting of American Legion Quade-Werchan Post No. 338 was held on Thursday, Oct. 6 in conjunction with the Carmine Chamber of Commerce Night Out at the Carmine Fire Station. The Post, with assistance from members of the local 4H, conducted a Flag Disposal Ceremony at the start of the event in accordance with procedures of the American Legion. The Chamber and the 4H had collected 66 flags for disposal. The students met on Oct. 5 and folded the flags in accordance with the procedures for disposal and prepared them for the ceremony.

Participating for the Post were Vice Commander Marvin Wessels, Financial Officer Frank Williams, and Adjutant Bruce Bockhorn. Other members of the post attending the event were Alvis Mueller, Fred Braun, Tom Drummond, and William Marth.

Adjutant Bruce Bockhorn presented American Flags for disposal to Post Commander Lyn Reavis, Vice Commander Marvin Wessels, Member Gene Goolsby and Chaplain Al Gross.

The next regular meeting of the Post and Auxiliary at their facility will occur on Nov. 3 beginning at 6:30 p.m.
