AMEN Sees Increase In Families Served During May

The AMEN Food Pantry continued to be busy in the month of May. A total of 328 families were served for the month for a total of 957 individuals. In the previous year during the month of May, 256 families were served, which represents a 22 percent increase of families served in May.

A total of 154 volunteers for 354 hours served the pantry. A total of 2,259 pounds of food were donated.

As always donations can be dropped off on Monday mornings from 9 a.m. until noon and Thursday morning from 10 a.m. until noon. Monetary donations can be mailed to P.O. Box 571, La Grange, Texas 78945, or dropped off at the Pantry.

AMEN is open every Thursday from 10 a.m. until noon with staff on location to receive donations. Drive to the side of the building at the garage door area. There will not be any food distribution on Thursday. If possible bring your produce during this time and early Monday mornings, an ideal time is 8:30 a.m.

The mobile pantry at Waldeck served 87 households for a total of 249 individuals. A total of 22 volunteers with 5,098 pounds distributed.

AMEN continues to appreciate all in the community for their assistance, without the support the pantry would not be able to support the needs of the community.
