AMEN Needs Egg Cartons, 24 New Clients Registered

The AMEN Food Pantry continued to be busy in the month of August. 326 families were served for the month for a total of 950 individuals. A total of 24 new clients were registered. The donated food total was 7,470 pounds. A total of 170 volunteers for a total of 423 hours.

In reference to hours in the pantry, there are individuals working all week preparing for the next week. On average about 200 are used on food distribution Monday, the balance of the hours is utilized the following methods. Pick up food from H-E-B five days per week and stocking the product, receiving food on Thursdays and organizing and preparing for the new week. AMEN can always use assistance. Drop by on Mondays.

The mobile food pantry in Waldeck. The following statistics were: 79 families served, 193 individuals and 3,507 pounds distributed. This is a service offered by Central Texas Food Bank; AMEN provides the labor to distribute the food. Nineteen volunteers assisted with the mobile pantry. Waldeck food distribution is on the third Saturday of each month from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

The pantry has need for clean empty egg cartons preferably a six pack or 12 pack. Drop off on Monday morning or Thursday morning.
