Airport Has Lengthy Wait-List
All county hangars have been continuously occupied this year and there are 45 names on the waiting list for a hangar.
New weather reporting equipment has been stalled and commissioned by the FAA. Weather information can be accessed online at K3T5.AWOS. LIVE. Other projects have been put on hold due to budget constraints. Fuel sales increased by 38% for the year compared to last year with the months of March (205% higher) and October (145% higher) being the highest sales months. This increase is attributed to the availability of multiple rental cars staged at the airport for the patrons flying in to attend the Round Top Antiques Fairs. Another factor contributing to the increase in fuel sales during the summer months was the Forestry Service basing their Air Attack platform, a King Air 90, at the airport. The Air Attack platform performs aerial supervision of air and ground resources in wildfire events.
Pavement management has been ongoing with the crack sealing equipment that was purchased several years ago. Thanks go out to the Precinct 2 crew for their efforts in manning the equipment. The local flying club continues to remain active. No accidents/incidents were reported in 2022.
