After Two Drop Out, No Contested Election for LG Council After All

There will be no contested City elections in La Grange, after all.

Monday night, the City of La Grange cancelled three of the four elections for city council seats due to unopposed candidates.

The fourth race is also unopposed after two of the three candidates withdrew from the election last Friday, Feb. 20. But that was after the posting deadline for Monday night’s City Council meeting. The Council will formally cancel that election at their next meeting.

The four unopposed candidates include two newcomers to the Council: Dylan Schlotterbeck for Ward 2 and Pam Giese for Ward 3. They will be taking the place of Patsy Zbranek and Kimberly Newton, who are not running for re-election.

Incumbents Kathy Weishuhn for Ward 1 and Bryan Kerr for Ward 4 were also unopposed. The new terms begin in May.
