Many dogs at the shelter came to us as strays and we are unaware of their backstories. That is why it is hard for us to know why some dogs will not make friends with other dogs while they are here. We hate to limit their adoptability by saying they need to be in a single dog family. For all we know, it’s stress from being at the shelter and they are great with other dogs in a different environment. Pictured are Roxy (boxer mix female) and Ranger (German Shepherd male). Each have had a friend or two but would do very well in a single dog home with a strong leader. If you have considered taking on a true rescue and letting these dogs live their best life, please stop by and visit.

• Visit the shelter at 240 Svoboda Lane and adopt animals on Tuesday-Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The shelter is closed on Monday. The animal shelter will not accept surrendered animals on Saturdays.
