ACCSS 5K to Kick Off Schulenburg Sausagefest
When one hears the word Sausagefest, strapping on your running shoes and going for a jog is not usually the first thing to come to mind. On Saturday, April 11, however, you are invited to change the perception by participating in our ACCSS 5K to be held in conjunction with the Schulenburg Sausagefest. A 5K in the morning will earn you a few extra samples that afternoon at the festivities in downtown Schulenburg.
The ACCSS 5K is hosted by the Alliance for College & Career Student Success (ACCSS) which is a collaborative program involving Blinn College District and eight regional independent school districts including Schulenburg, Flatonia, Weimar, Columbus, Fayetteville, Moulton, Dime Box and Sealy ISDs. Believing that rural youth deserve the opportunity to dream big and pursue their goals, the ACCSS program works to ensure that every student, regardless of background, has access to the opportunities needed to thrive in the pursuit of their educational and career aspirations by providing academic and career resources, guidance, and comprehensive support essential for students to attain post-secondary credits or workforce career credentials.
All funds raised will support academic dual credit scholarship and tuition for workforce classes.
Registration is open now at https://sausagefest5k.itsyourrace. com/event. or on the ACCSS website www.myaccss. net.
The run will be chip timed by Run Texas Timing Services and medals will be distributed to the top 3 males and females in 9 different age categories.
