51st Czhilispiel Is This Weekend

The 51st annual Flatonia Czhilispiel takes place this weekend, Oct. 27-28. Festivities include chili and barbecue cookoffs, a carnival, live music and more.

Friday night entertainment includes performances by Art Hernandez, Grupo Actual and DJ Shindal. Cody Canada and the Departed headline the music stage Saturday night.

Other performers Saturday include Timlightyear, Bill Pekar, Josh Grider & Drew Kennedy-The Topo Chico Cowboys, Fritz Hodde & The Fabulous Six, Sunny Sweeny and Texas Unlimited Band. Sunday entertainment includes D’Vine Testament, Vic Rodriguez with Cowboy Cumbia and The Emotions.

Be sure to sign up for the Young Farmers Egg Toss and the Jalapeno Eating Contest on Saturday, along with the CZ Got Talent Show.

On Sunday there will be kids tricycle races, Halloween Costume Contest, Little Wranglers Hay Hauling contest, horseshoes and washer tournaments, a cornhole tournament sponsored by the 4-H and the popular Backseat Momma Driver competition.

All of it takes place around the big tent in downtown Flatonia.
