24 Open Corona Bottles; Then Two Arrests

Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek reports on Thursday night around 11:19 p.m. Deputy Seth Nagel conducted a traffic stop on a 2011 Infiniti on State Hwy. 71 westbound near West Point for a traffic violation.

Upon contact with the occupants Deputy Nagel observed 24 Corona open bottles in the vehicle. The driver had no Texas driver’s license and during the contact, and a search of the vehicle for more open containers was conducted.

Deputy Jared Michalec arrived and assisted Nagel at the scene. Nagel located in the vehicle two baggies of Marijuana, a white powdery substance in a folded dollar bill that tested positive for cocaine, and a Smith & Wesson .40 caliber handgun with 12 rounds in the magazine.

Arrested and transported to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center was 22-year-old Yaredy Jonathan Casasola-Lara and 21-year-old Jose Rolando Cuevaz-Vargas both of Houston charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, and unlawful carrying a weapon.
