The Fayette Co. Record’s Management in Its First Half Century, 1922-1972 Editor’s note: This issue marks the final edition of our 100th year of continuous publication. We hope you enjoy this look back, which was printed then the newspaper turned 50. Tuesday we begin year No. 101!

The Fayette County Record was born in little building three-quarters of a block east of the Courthouse Square in La Grange. The date was Nov. 3, 1922, and the place, a frame structure that later housed Max’s Cleaners. The building was later razed and the land utilized as a parking lot by Barry’s Exxon (now C&C Sales and Auto Care).
