It’s Almost Election Time!

It’s almost that time again. On Nov. 4, 2025, registered voters will once again have the opportunity to participate in our democracy by exercising their right to vote. There will be 17 statewide constitutional amendments on the upcoming ballot, and voters in the Fayetteville ISD will also decide on a school tax rate change. These changes to the Texas Constitution will impact our laws and our daily lives, so we all need to research and be prepared before going to the polls. The League of Women Voters’ Voters Guides are now available, providing non-partisan information regarding pros and cons for each proposed amendment to help everyone make an informed decision. There are lots of other sources as well. Just be sure to choose reliable sources.

Sense of Smell

I lost my sense of smell a number of years ago and didn’t realize it for the longest time. My sense of taste still works, so apparently those two senses aren’t as intertwined as people assume.
Sense of Smell

Tragedy of Sept. 10

To the editor: It makes me sad to read a letter like The Tragedy of 9-1025, hard and sad to accept the fact that people can be so mislead, so mistaken and misguided as the writer of the letter. His accusations against Charlie Kirk are totally unfounded and false.

A Civics Lesson

To the Editor: The media and liberals spout off and lie about things they know nothing about. They don’t catch on or they refuse to recognize reality.

The Cost of Coffee

To the Editor: Yikes! While buying coffee over the past months, I have noticed a steady rise in price and some reduced availability. I know that man cannot live on bread alone; we also need our coffee as well as spiritual and emotional fulfillment.

Unprepared Organizer

To the Editor: The recent article pertaining to Ronald Anderson trail ride sounded more like a disclaimer to the trail ride itself. On one hand it was once a closely-knit community of people, but somehow expanded to 7,000 people, but sold out on day one.

Wouldn’t You Agree?

To the Editor: I recently posted my thoughts on social media about English being the language of the USA. I have noticed as I drive through our little towns, there are more signs popping up in Spanish, or retailers are advertising on radio and TV in Spanish, and I do not understand them or the sidewalk signs.
