To the Editor: Did the newspapers in New York fail the voters, or did the voters fail to read the local papers? It seems that when George Santos was elected on fraudulent credentials, the local (New York) newspaper failed the community. There are enough voters that feel deceived by Santos that if the election were held today, he would fail to be elected.

To the Editor: It was interesting to read about the meeting concerning emergency response in Fayette County. I too had wished to be a member of a Response Team (CERT) during an emergency in Fayette County, should one arise.

Eroding Traditions: DYD Fundraising Gutted By Town of Round Top

Since 1935, the Round Top Do Your Duty (DYD) organization has raised money to maintain and improve the Town Square in Round Top. In its early days, the DYD painted the Town Hall building, planted shrubs around its perimeter, paved sidewalks, and maintained the surrounding streets. They also organized fundraising events, such as bazaars, bingo and picnics to help fund maintenance and improvement projects, which took some of the burden of those costs off of taxpayers.
