Why I Can’t Vote for Trump
To the editor:
I am not a Democrat or. Republican, I am an Independent. I check all candidates and vote for the person most qualified, either Democrat or Republican. I have always voted a split ticket. I cannot vote for Trump as president based on these facts.
Trump lost his second term election. He said it was not legal and votes were not counted right. However, when the votes were recounted by his people, it was proven that he lost the election.
Trump initiated an insurrection in Washington DC on January 6, 2021. He told his radical supporters to march on the US Capitol and get the Vice President not to accept the outcome of the election. He also told the demonstrators he would go with them; he didn’t go.
Trump tried to get rid of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), also known as Obamacare which is aimed to provide affordable health insurance coverage for all Americans. He almost succeeded, but one patriotic Republican Senator, John Mc-Cain, came to the Sente chamber and his thumbs down vote kept it live.
Trump does not want to give support to Ukraine. He said he can settle this war in a short time with President Putin, whom he admires and with whom against policy, had a along private conversation behind closed doors in Moscow.
Trump is planning to execute a restrictive US immigration agenda if elected and to carry out the largest domestic deportation operation in American history. The US depends on immigrants to work jobs that American citizens won’t do, especially in the farming community.
Trump has proposed various tax policy changes that would generally lead to a tax cut for the richest five percent of Americans and a tax increase for all other income groups. Everybody should pay their fair share of taxes. People who make a high salary or investments should pay a higher percentage of income taxes. I remember a person clearing a million dollars paid up to 90% taxes in the 1940s, in fact in 1944, the top rate peaked at 94 percent on taxable income over $200,000 (2.5 million in today’s dollars).

Trump thinks he can make America great again, currently we are the greatest nation in the world. Inflation is going down and the economy is going up and unemployment is at its lowest. Trump disagrees and wants a new Trump administration to cater to his MAGA followers and unconstitutionally fire everyone that disagrees with him. The USA has the strongest economy in the world based on our freedoms.
I have confidence in the American voters. I believe they will vote their conscience and elect Kamala Harris for President, Tim Walz for Vice President and ColinAllred for Senate of the USA.
