No Free Money

To the editor:

During a recent budget meeting, to discuss proposed programs and projects and how to pay for them, a comment was made there is no “Free Money.”

Federal and State grants, Law Enforcement and Emergency Services grants and contracts, School contributions from the State for property tax exemptions and increased Sales Tax collections are all great .

But, they are all funded from money that we pay through taxes and fees to all levels of Government. The comment is correct, there is no “Free Money.”
