With Warm Aloha for The Hawaiian People

Thank you so very much for the beautifully illustrated editorial cartoon tribute to Maui in last week’s newspaper.

The heart-shaped pink flower lei surrounding the island was perfect.

Each of the Hawaiian Islands has a “color,” associated with the “flower” of each island.

Maui’s flower is the pink Lokelani (Heavenly Rose.)

As we say in Hawaiian, Mahalo Nui Loa (thank you very much), for the thoughtful expression of love for all who are suffering greatly on Maui.

We lived and worked in Lahaina, Maui for 11 years before moving to Winchester. The devastation is heartbreaking. All prayers and donations are sorely needed. Mahalo.
