Unfocused Democrats
To the Editor:
After reading Justin’s letter in last Friday’s Record, I found two points I could agree with him on. One, that “inherently everyone is capable of being an *insert expletive*”, and two, “Democrats are no strangers to corruption.”
The Democrats have no solutions, only theatrical distractions like making a scene interrupting a press conference and then playing the victim of police brutality when failing to cooperate with police.
The ‘unfocused’ message from the Democrat Party is divide and conquer. They are afraid of Trump’s commonsense approach and fear he might be successful in eliminating their tyrannical 1984 ideals.
Woke is NOT an “idea of inclusivity”.
The Meriam-Webster dictionary defines the adjective woke as follows: “aware of and actively attentive to important societal facts and issues (especially issues of racial and social justice) often used in contexts that suggest someone’s expressed beliefs about such matters are not backed with genuine concern or action; politically liberal or progressive (as in matters of racial and social justice) especially in a way that is considered unreasonable or extreme.” The following sentences are examples of the use of the concept woke: “Due process is now dismissed as the refrain of woke liberals,” and “There are various woke topics that either go over people’s heads or downright repel them, such as: defund the police, land dedications, preferred pronouns, equity, white privilege, LatinX, reparations, gender ideology and support for Hamas.” Neither of these examples of the woke concept convey the idea of ‘inclusivity’.
According to Justin, “if you say you are antiwoke you are saying you are extremely prejudiced, likely to the point of racism.”
So, if you’re woke according to Webster’s definition you are “unreasonable or extreme” and if you’re antiwoke, according to Justin, you’re prejudiced and/or racists.”
The message is chaotic and confusing. What happened to accepting a difference of opinion?
The message I get from ‘unfocused’ Democrats is that disagreement cannot be tolerated. Persons who do not follow the chosen Democratic Party narrative must be labeled, demonized, and excommunicated. The Democratic Party’s message has been to “fundamentally transform America” and I believe they are very focused on that mission. American voters declared in Nov. 2024 they don’t want America transformed.
Trump’s campaign messaging won him the election because American citizens were tired of the lies from the Democrat Administrations. The TrumpAdministration is taking serious steps to correct attempts to rewrite America’s past. On March 27, 2025, Trump issued an Executive Order titled “Restoring Truth and Sanity to American History.” The order reads, ““Over the past decade, Americans have witnessed a concerted and widespread effort to rewrite our nation’s history, replacing objective facts with a distorted narrative driven by ideology rather than truth. This revisionist movement seeks to undermine the remarkable achievements of the United States by casting its founding principles and historical milestones in a negative light.”
The upcoming national holiday July 4th celebrates the adoption of our Declaration of Independence and signifies the birth of our nation. The Declaration of Independence declared the 13 American colonies ‘separate from British rule.’
Americans can and should be proud of our country’s history instead of catering to an ideology that requires rewriting that history. America’s heritage is worth celebrating. Be thankful for our freedom.
