Unanswered Questions
To the Editor:
The election is over and there are many opinions of why Republicans won and Democrats lost. None of those opinions answer my questions.
Why did mothers and fathers with daughters and granddaughters vote for a convicted sexual predator?
Why did business persons vote for a business man who cheated on taxes and declared bankruptcy several times?
Why did the religious right vote for someone who bullies and constantly lies?
Why vote for someone who promotes violence with his vile and demeaning rhetoric?
Why did the “party of law and order” vote for a 34 times convicted felon?
Why did someone vote for the demeaning of veterans?
Why did any public school teacher vote for someone who wants to do away with the Department of Education and promote vouchers?
Why would anyone vote for someone who Generals and former cabinet members cautioned would be a danger to national security?
Why would anyone who believes in the Constitution and Democracy vote for someone who doesn’t?
Why vote against freedom, especially for women?
Some folks explain “It’s the economy and inflation.” That can’t be it as inflation under the Biden administration is lower and the economy is stronger.
Now it is already starting: the crazies who feel empowered by the vile and threatening rhetoric are sending emails and texts to young folks using KKK rhetoric from the past. It is happening in Austin, Texas, just down the road.
