Trump’s Retribution

To the Editor:

He told us he wanted revenge. He failed to mention how it would hurt so many folks who were and are only doing their jobs. Who is alright with private citizens, Musk and his minions, illegally breaking into the Federal Treasury and searching through private data? It is unconstitutional to stop funds that the Congress has already approved for agencies. Musk shut down USAID, US Agency for International Development, which is responsible for humanitarian efforts around the globe. This action stopped food, medicine, and aid to suffering people in many countries. Mothers and babies are starving and dying. Who is alright with this?

Closer to home, CFPB, Consumer Financial Protection Bureau may be next. This agency enforces financial consumer protection laws. This affects all of us.

Trump wants to impose more tariffs which will drive prices up even more. So much for his promise to bring down prices on groceries for consumers. Who is alright with this?

The Congress is suppose to be the checks and balance when the executive branch oversteps, but the Republican majority does nothing. Some courts have declared some of the moves unconstitutional and put a stop to them. Now, our vice president, who is a lawyer and knows better, is hinting that the courts could be ignored. I guess this administration is banking on the citizens believing the lies. Who is alright with this?

This administration puts us in a Constitutional Crisis. They hope we will be stymied by the blitz. We have a voice. We can call and write our representatives in Congress. This is not alright. We can make a difference.
