Take Back Our Country
To the editor:
I was grateful to find in The Epoch Times edition Friday, Oct. 4, 2024, pages A6-7, a concise “policy comparison” of the Republican and Democratic platforms on major issues.
I’ve watched the debates, listened to several interviews of the candidates, and read several commentaries and opinions from different news sources. I found this comparison very helpful because as I read it, I wasn’t distracted by the caustic political rhetoric delivered by both presidential candidates and the sincere ‘pitiful me’ deliverance of the managed narrative by the hypocritical Democratic candidates. Every one of the Democratic candidates’ political adds make a strong effort to convince a naïve public there is a consensus of what the American voter thinks and wants.
The Wall Street Journal reports, “So perhaps it’s no coincidence that today the politicians who are most zealous in demanding the power to silence misinformation promoted by others have been peddling a great deal of it themselves.” Last Saturday Hillary Clinton appeared on CNN to present her censorship campaign. Speaking about the media environment during the Watergate inquiry she said, “I think it’s a lot harder for Americans to know what they’re supposed to believe.” “Recently a Journal editorial noted Mrs. Clinton’s suggestion that criminal charges might be in order against Americans exercising their First Amendment rights in political discussions.”
A George Washington University law professor, Jonathan Turley, writes in USA Today that “the Biden-Harris administration has proved to be the most anti-free speech administration in two centuries.” Observing the political records of Harris and Walz reveals if elected, they will expand this legacy.
The Stanford Review published remarks Dr. Scott Atlas gave at a conference last weekend as a panel member discussion on misinformation, censorship, and academic freedom; “Truth is not a Team Sport. Truth is not determined by consensus, or by numbers of people who agree, or by titles. It is discovered by debate, proven by critical analysis of evidence. Arguments are won by data and logic, not by personal attack or censoring others.”
The Wall Street Journal reports, “While avoiding discussion of the policies they (Harris & Walz), will employ to govern us, they’ve clearly expressed contempt for the bedrock liberty that allows all of us to criticize government policies”—freedom of speech.
Harris has been VP for 3+ years and has promoted the invasion of illegal immigrants. Harris has violated her oath of office and put American citizens at risk because of the Biden-Harris open border policies. “425,000-plus” of those illegal individuals are “on ICE’s so-called “nondetained” docket including “13,099 convicted of homicide, while another 1,845 face homicide charges...” Will you vote for a candidate who has so blatantly violated her oath of office?
Voters have the power to save free speech and other ‘God given rights’with stronger leadership.
