Simple Plan is The Right One for New Bypass

To the Editor:

I couldn’t help but chuckle when I saw the three possible routes for a truck by-pass as a go around for the bluff. I can honestly say that these three routes would have been really funny if they were not actually planned by an engineer.

Why is the simplest route not even mentioned? The road already exists and would have required a few trucks to go from Hostyn to Hwy 154. A simpler plan to expedite the trucks from Hwy 154 to Hwy 71 could be made without breaking the bank. In my experience as an engineer the term Ocumm’s Razor, which means the simplest plan is usually the right one. So why are the three plans so convoluted?
