SCOTUS and Equal Justice

To the Editor:

In Fayette County, Texas, and in America, we value our freedoms.

But a politically powerful and highly wealthy few have always tried rigging the rules while the MAGA Republicans they’ve paid for accelerate Trump’s criminal conspiracy, and try to take away Social Security, Medicare, and our freedom to thrive. With the SEC vs. Jarkesy case now, the MAGA Justices on the Supreme Court who took away our freedom to decide what happens to our bodies are ruling on whether our government can enforce our laws, hold corporations accountable for breaking them, and protect our freedoms.

MAGA Justices want to rule over us, not represent us while taking luxury gifts from billionaires with cases before them. But we have seen that we can stand up to the money when we join across races, places, and parties.

Coming together across Fayette County, Texas, and America, we can demand Congress investigate the MAGA Justices taking dark money from billionaires and set rules and standards to ensure the Supreme Court delivers equal justice under the law.
