Prophecy Unfolding?

To the editor:

This is a follow-up to the letter to the editor on February 9 of this year, entitled “Conservative vs Liberal in 2024.” I have something to share with my conservative fellow believers and followers of Jesus Christ, and for those genuinely searching for truth.

Jesus left over 2,000 years ago and said He would return at the “end of the age.” People have ever since been saying throughout history “The end is near!” Well, “near” is a relative term, but with what we see in this world right now, I think there is a very good chance I could see the rapture before I die. (1Thess 4:16-18, 1 Cor 15:51-53) It appears we may have very well reached a point where our country is no longer one nation under God. We may have degraded to, or soon be, a nation under liberals and foreigners who hate anything or anyone that goes against their personal desires and beliefs, which are based on anything but God’s word. This also includes a disdain for Israel, who the Bible makes abundantly clear is God’s chosen people (chosen to represent Him to the world.)

In the last four years, extreme and possibly irreversible damage has been done to this country on the issues of our border, our economy, and foreign affairs, just to name a few. I actually thought it would be a no-brainer for our citizens to so easily see this and make the changes necessary to begin to turn our country around. Instead, it appears we could soon be doing just the opposite, and putting in place leaders that are even worse and will absolutely assure the eventual collapse of the USA, and a beginning of the end.

Why is this? Bible prophecy is unfolding. Right now we are seeing exactly what the Bible warns us of...“There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, … ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, …, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— having a form of godliness but denying its power.” 2 Timothy 3:1-5 The evil and blasphemous displays in the opening ceremonies of the Olympics was a very accurate representation of what our nation and world is now full of. Scripture explains this type of behavior…“…they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done. They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy,…, strife, deceit and malice. They are… God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; …they have no understanding, … Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.” Romans 1: 28-32 Christians are also often guilty of these same sins, but the difference is we have a genuine desire to acknowledge our sinfulness and to repent of it, and not blatantly live in it and look for ways to justify and protect it. We daily ask God to transform our hearts and minds away from the world around us, our sinful selves, and from Satan.

The phrase “having a form of godliness but denying its power” includes those that simply have religion and even claim to believe in God and the Bible, but do not read it, know it, or follow it. There are religious organizations calling themselves churches right here in La Grange that are conforming to the world in the name of being “tolerant” and “inclusive,” which have become the big deceiving catch words of this sick society. They are merely religious organizations, and definitely not the Church, which is the family of God, His children, who read, respect, trust, and obey His word.

I believe our nation may now have enough of these darkened, blinded, depraved minds as described above, to elect leaders who are of the same minds. The current Godless liberal leadership is leading us directly into what we have been warned… “wars and rumors of wars”, and “nation shall rise against nation”, and “iniquity shall abound”. Matthew 24 Donald Trump may or may not be a true Christian, only God would know, but there are many biblical examples of God using all sorts of people to carry out His perfect will whether they were believers or not. Trump proved for four years that he stands on the correct side of all important issues and gets the right things done for our country, in both domestic and foreign affairs. Not being a career politician, his ways are not politically correct, and frankly often quite unprofessional. But having an individual with a flawed personality on a biblically based platform, doing the right things, is infinitely better than having depravedminded people on an evil party platform that cares nothing about the word of God, and will obliterate this nation that has in the past enjoyed the blessings of God.

So as we enter into what I believe could very well be the beginning of the end, there is bad news and there is good news. The bad news is stated above. The good news for followers of Jesus Christ is that by his death on the cross, he has already won the ultimate victory over sin and death for us.

We pray for Gods will to be done in the upcoming election and know if we end up with even worse leadership than before, it is all under His perfect knowledge and permissive will, and biblical prophecy will unfold as His word tells us.

So believers, as we enter this time, do you find yourself afraid, and maybe having trouble understanding some things? If so, read your Bible daily for strength and wisdom and meditate on the many truths.

If you fear that liberals will scoff at you, expect that because the Bible warns us… “Above all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires.” 2 Peter 3:3-4 As far as being able to have a peace in these troubled times, trust what God says… “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid” John 14:27 And as for as understanding things… “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.” Proverbs 3: 5-6 Because in the end… “He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” Revelation 21:4 Be sure to vote in November and pray fervently and continuously for our nation and its leaders. 2 Chronicles 7:14
