Our Future is Up to Us

To the editor:

Whether elected or appointed, our leaders must respect the will of Fayette County and Texas voters and govern in our interest, not seize power, commit crimes, and rule over us. After deliberately delaying for more than six months, the MAGA Justices on our Supreme Court have not only invited Trump to get away with committing crimes but have chosen to interfere in our election on his behalf.

If it had not been for the interference of MAGA justices, Trump’s January 6th trial would have been over, and a verdict would have been rendered. Fayette County voters deserve to know whether someone in this election is guilty of attempting to overthrow the last one. Instead, their ruling paves the way for a MAGA dictatorship that will take away our freedoms.

We must now come together to keep Trump out of power so that he can appoint the next generation of Supreme Court justices who will control our lives and imperil our livelihoods. When the MAGA movement denies us the justice we deserve, we must act as the ultimate jury, turning out this November to vote for our Fayette County freedoms, our families, and our futures.
