Meeting the City Manager

Fellow citizens of La Grange, I am really afraid. Our city council was so hard up to hire a city manager, that they almost doubled our retired city manager’s salary.

The reason I am upset is because this sounds eerily similar to the situation of our beloved closed hospital, St Mark’s. I had the pleasure of being the first plain clothed citizen to meet Mr. Jack Thompson on Monday, Feb. 26 which was his first day on the job.

I will look past the fact that he walked right by me without acknowledging me. After I addressed him by saying “HEY! Who are you?” He stopped and we were able to converse. That, however, was not the only time I saw him that day. We also chatted at the city council meeting that evening. I told him about my drainage problem and the concerns about potholes. I think he seems very nice and everyone deserves a chance.
