LG Branding
To the Editor:
I enjoyed the FCR articles on La Grange branding and while I don’t think any rebranding is needed because if you’re not getting the appeal of La Grange, then you’re just not trying. Even so I have a few more tongue-in-cheek offerings.
• Fayette County: Where there’s more cows than people so the average IQ is higher than Austin… This is especially true now when the Legislature is in session.
• La Grange: Where we know how the sausage is made.
• La Grange: Where 71 and 77 are four from gross… It is written as ‘four’ but pronounced as ‘far.’ Sure, not everyone is a keeper but I like math.
• La Grange: That Little Ole Town from Texas, Haw, Haw, Haw.
• Plum: Internationally acclaimed Little Jack Horner’s best work.
• La Grange: If we don’t have it, you don’t need it… Well, except maybe for that hospital thing.
• La Grange: A Bohemian Rhapsody in quilts and kolaches.
• La Grange: Where a Monument Hill is way better than a Round Top.
The City is free to use any of these with the proviso that money for re-branding consultants goes to the people’s efforts that make La Grange noteworthy in the first place like the animal shelter, AMEN pantry, Second Chance, porch builders, Holy Smokers, etc.
