Learning Texan Matters More than They Know

To the editor:

“Why,” asked The Austin American daily last Sunday, “does the Austin metroplex produce twice as many Fentanyl deaths as other urban centers in Texas?” One divisive but worth considering reason might be the open wounds bleeding away the soul of a city, and a country — wounds like those killing California, (where from they left). The obvious equate lost on the paper’s editors.

As well, there is another epidemic growing in our State capital. People there are losing themselves in the fear and loathing that searches for blame with which to cover the obvious. They can not save themselves in Texas by inflicting on it an equally corrupting case of California stupid.

Austin’s political class must wake up quickly. Their job is not to accommodate the addictions of a bunch of Sodom and Gomorrah transplants, but to learn them their lessons in Texan where a handshake and a hug mean more on Sunday than they do at lunch on Monday.
