Justice Delayed is Justice Denied

To the editor:

Whether elected or appointed, our leaders must respect our will and govern in our interest, not seize power, commit crimes, and rule over us. After deliberately delaying for more than six months, the MAGA Justices on our Supreme Court have not only invited Trump to get away with committing crimes but have chosen to interfere in our election on his behalf. Were it not for their interference, Trump’s January 6th trial would be over with a verdict rendered. Voters deserve to know whether someone in this election is guilty of attempting to overthrow the last one. Instead, their ruling paves the way for a MAGA dictatorship that will take away our freedoms. We must now come together to keep Trump out of power so that he can appoint the next generation of Supreme Court justices who will control our lives and imperil our livelihoods. When the MAGA movement denies us the justice we deserve, we must act as the ultimate jury, turning out this November to vote for our freedoms, our families, and our futures.
