Jan. 6 Perspectives
To the Editor:
This letter is addressed to the writers of “Rewriting Jan. 6” and “Reclaim Our Birthright.”
“Rewriting Jan. 6”. Now for the facts concerning J6.
FactCheck.org states “Within 36 hours, five people died: one was shot by the Capitol Police, another died of a drug overdose, and three died of natural causes, including a police officer.” Full disclosure on this police officer. His cause of death was ruled natural. The coroner’s report showed that he was sprayed with a “chemical irritant” during the protest. One protester had bear spray and was sentenced for spraying eight officers with it. However, the officer who died was not listed as one of those officers. Police officers were using pepper spray.
To “multiple other officers who responded to the riot tragically took their own lives in the days and months that followed Jan. 6, highlighting the severe mental health impact of the events.” There is zero proof these suicides were related to J6. Suicide is always horrible and tragic.
Unfortunately, statistics show the suicide rate for police officers is around 180 or so annually. Shame on you for making it political.
To your last statement “would you accept that excuse from your children.” You acknowledged there were good people who peacefully protested and came unarmed. So which is it? Was everyone there a bad person or were the majority exercising their right to free speech and the right to assemble peaceably? Would you not praise your children for standing up for what they believe in peacefully? It should also be noted that President Trump offered lying Nancy additional security which she refused. And then there’s the J6 Commission. Why is it that the commission deleted all the files from their investigation? Maybe because they found nothing and the arrests of the majority of those people violated their civil rights? And my favorite, Biden’s preemptive pardon of Crazy Cheney. If everything that the J6 Commission, lame stream media, and democrats reported about J6 was true why destroy the evidence?
Now that the J6 protestors have been released, we’re starting to hear the other side of the story. And there is always the other side of the story. Do I expect any Democrat to look at the other side of the story….nope. They thrive on hate and are incapable of seeing the other side of any story.
Now to “Reclaim Our Birthright.” Give it a rest. There will be no stopping President Trump. Get used to it. He will restore America to the Constitutional Republic it was designed to be. As usual this letter is filled with the same tired talking points and hysteria, with no facts. And to your “disgust into action…. blah blah blah.” Bring it.
I have a question for these two writers. It’s a question I’ve asked a couple of times of Democratic writers of letters to the editor. The lame stream media and the Democratic party have literally lied for the last eight years about absolutely everything. Examples-Biden is fine; Hunter is not a foreign agent; the laptop was misinformation; the Biden family didn’t make millions selling out America; inflation is transitory; prices are not high; the border is closed; the world is a safe place; the list goes on and on. Why did you vote for Biden firstly, and then Harris secondly? I don’t think I’ve heard a Democrat ever say why they vote for Democrats. It’s just been “Trump bad.” Or maybe you didn’t vote. People, in my opinion, who don’t vote, lose the right to complain. If you’re not part of the solution, you’re part of the problem. If you can’t defend your party’s position then you shouldn’t be voting for them. God knows neither Biden nor Harris were fit to serve America. But then Democrats are not about serving the American people, are they?
