It’s Time to Turn the Page
To the editor:
I am writing this letter on Veteran’s Day. “Lest we forget,” freedom is not free. Every citizen of the U.S.A. recently had the privilege of participating in a national election. As Abraham Lincoln said, “We the people are the rightful masters of both Congress and the courts, not to overthrow the Constitution but to overthrow the men who pervert the Constitution.”
I read today; this election is the result of a “seismic shift in the American political landscape.” “Each and every day, the presidential and congressional agenda must be oriented to prioritizing the common man who has been left behind for decades by both parties.”
Michael Quinn Sullivan quoted Dwight D. Eisenhower in the Nov. 8, 2024, edition of the Texas Minute: “Politics ought to be the part-time profession of every citizen who would protect the rights and privileges of free people and who would preserve what is good and fruitful in our national heritage.”
Rice University’s Baker Institute for Public Policy released a report in mid-September reporting, “Christian voters are going to pay an outsized role in the U.S. election, and they will have a greater impact than ever before.” Many within the halls of government and those who have an “outsized influence” on those in government have worked to separate the American people from the religious principles our nation was founded on.
Citizens going to the polls to vote for principles they believe in should be like the Founders of our nation, as Ben Carson described them, “diligent and studious…examining every society that has a written history…extracting and inculcating the elements of government that ultimately lead to peace and prosperity while rejecting those things that lead to dominance and servitude with respect to the people.”
Dr. Tim LaHaye reminds us, “Were it not for Christians, there would be no America.”
It’s time to stop “the liberal secular humanists in government, media, education, and the entertainment industry who are dedicated to changing this country into a socialist country that can be merged in the near future with a global government opposing everything we and traditional Americans stand for.”
The Founders of our great nation ensured our freedoms would not be in doubt by codifying them in the Bill of Rights and Constitutional amendments. It’s time we stopped allowing globalists, progressives, and ‘elites’ to cripple our energy production, expand the welfare state to illegal migrants, weaken our military by spending cuts and woke culture, allow Chinese nationalists to purchase American soil, distort our history, expose our children to perverted sex education, and declare parents ‘domestic terrorists.’
All citizens must stay alert, informed, and on guard against the “ancient foe” whose “craft and power are great.”
