Impeachment Takeaway

To the Editor:

The takeaway from the corruption of the Texas Senate in the Paxton impeachment vote: “Drain the Swamp – except when criminals, liars and adulterers are OUR criminals, liars and adulterers.”

There are 150 Representatives, but one seat is currently vacant leaving 149 to vote. 121 voted for impeachment (81.2% of the House), including 64.5% of Republicans and 100% of Democrats.

Then the Senate Swamp took over. Lois Kolkhorst, our State Senator, did not even want to see the evidence, voting for the motion to summarily toss the impeachment.

Next time you hear “Drain the Swamp” from Senator Kolkhorst, remind her of this vote in favor of the corrupt criminal leading our Texas Department of Justice. And for what? To kowtow to Paxton cheerleader and criminal and compulsive liar, Moby Don, the Great White Whale sinking the Ship of State? [Melville, Plato, Longfellow] Back up the tape to 2016 and those free of Alzheimer’s will recall Moby Don leading the chants “Lock her up” and “Drain the Swamp.” Dial forward to the present, and the Cult gives passes to Moby Don and his loyal criminals with bizarre excuses justifying brazen criminal behavior. And all of this from a political party claiming that it champions “Law and Order.”
