ICE Doesn’t Murder People

To the editor:

The writer of a recent editorial tells us in no uncertain terms that ICE is murdering people. I am not familiar with the details of the “murders” that she mentions, and I doubt that she is either. In any case it seems somewhat premature to call these unfortunate deaths murder.

Virtually all, if not absolutely all, of the people killed by law enforcement in recent years would be alive today if they had just obeyed legal orders by the officer. When people resist arrest, drive a vehicle in a threatening manner, or otherwise interfere with law enforcement the situation can spin out of control quickly and bad things can happen.

The writer also tells us that “ICE is targeting and killing people based on appearance.” She then confesses her guilt for being white and possessing “white privilege.” She has been in Fayette County for four years. I would be glad to contribute to relocate her to Chicago for therapy.
