How to Thank a Vet
To the editor:
This is not a political endorsement of a party philosophy but a statement from this tired old vet.
First we love hearing you thank us for our service, never doubt that. Lately I have been hearing a lot of grumbling about everything from the cost of a gallon of diesel to a gallon of milk, a carton of eggs to a carton of ice cream.
You should stop right there and realize how fortunate you are in one of the few places on earth that you can do something about it. That’s right, you have the power to change things. Veterans have spent years in miserable conditions to protect the privilege you have. We did our part now you do yours. Thank us by getting out and voting.
We paid the band get out and dance. Don’t make those terrible minutes, hours days and months stand for nothing. Next time you want to thank a vet, just show him your ‘I voted’ sticker.
