Hospital Deal Smells

To the Editor:

Recent editions of your paper have told the tale of a Hospital run into financial ruin by a group hired to operate it at a profit, but they failed.

Then HUD takes it for the balance owed and sells it, not for the roughly 13 million dollars it is valued fairly at, but, they sell it for $806,000. What a fire sale that was.

Furthermore, this was a gross mismanagement of our Tax Dollars by a HUD contractor that was hired to Auction off the property and recover the most value. Not give it away to favored Investors.

If you feel that this smells to high Heaven as I do, then please contact the HUD OIG’s (office of the inspector general) office at the hud.gov web site or call them at HUD OIG Hotline number: 1-800-3473735 to let them hear from you.

There is no reason that HUD could not give the SMMC to the VA, Lord knows we need more Care facilities for our Vets.

This is a great example of how money is thrown away by our Government and we, the Taxpayers, are left with 33 trillion dollars of debt. Just think of all the other HUD loans that are being done this same way.

So please, raise up and be heard. Call and let them know we aren’t just stupid taxpayers.
