Emotions for a New Year
“The universe is one being. Everything and everyone is interconnected through an invisible thread of stories. Whether we are aware of it or not, we are all in a silent conversation.
Paint with lightness and joy, for your joy will become the joy of others. Hold close the dark times as well. For your lessons will become the teachings of others.”
Elif Shafak / Natalie Dumont de Chassart
The new year promises days of fear, joy, grief, conflict, anger, humor, hate and love. Bombarded by emotions we may not understand nor know how to control, we cling to a belief we are right, our way is the correct one, our ideas will succeed.
Life opens us to a world previously unseen, bursting with colors, thoughts, paths, and people previously unimaginable and unexpected.
How we see these revelations is a commitment to ourselves and to the rest of humanity. The lens through which we view each happening will either heighten or limit our understanding of ourselves, of others, and of our future.
This new year, I hope we draw nearer to each other, accepting, loving, understanding and revelling in our differences while knowing we are all connected, drawn together by our need to survive and prosper.
I may not see your eyes, but I know your heart. I may not hear your words, but I know your hopes. I may not feel your pain, but I know your anguish. I may not know your path, but I know your journey, for we are connected.
May in this new year you spread your wings to include, understand, accept, and love, and fly high to see the world as one.
Happy 2024!
