Disappointed with LG

To the editor:

I am very disappointed with the reaction and rejection of my brilliant ideas to pay for drainage when I appeared in front of city council last week. These past ideas would not have cost the citizens a thing….it was a winwin. I do not want to believe that the council rejected my ideas because they were too lazy. I believe they refused my ideas because they didn’t draw enough revenue to pay for drainage.

Therefore, I have come up with a more adequate, cost effective, popular way to raise money for this problem. Ken Taylor will volunteer to drive a school bus to Delta Downs and Lake Charles for a community gambling extravanganza. The City will give each participant the amount of their personal City property taxes to enjoy their gaming experience. But all winnings will be immediately Put into the drainage fund. High Slots are a must.

I really am confident that this problem will be solved because our new city manager, J.T., is now my neighbor. He will also be in the “line of water” to experience the flooding issue first hand.

Easter is a new beginning for us all. Hopefully the city council will soften their hearts and reconsider some of my previous ideas for drainage. I would also like to thank The Fayette County Record for publishing my letters.
