Corrupt Supreme Court

To the editor:

After rejecting the case in December 2023, the MAGA Justices on the Supreme Court agreed to adjudicate in late April 2024 the MAGA former president’s claims that he had carte blanche to commit crimes. This has forced the federal trial into the MAGA criminal conspiracy to overthrow the 2020 elections to be placed on hold.

If these MAGA Justices had not inserted themselves into the process, Trump’s January 6th trial would already be over — with a verdict rendered on whether a man running in this election was guilty of attempting to overthrow the last one. This comes, of course, amidst growing evidence of endorsement of and collusion with the very insurrection they now purport to adjudicate - from Justice Samuel Alito displaying the traitorous flag at his home to Justice Clarence Thomas’s wife helping orchestrate what became the January 6th attack.

By agreeing to take up the immunity claim and then failing to affirm a lower court’s unanimous rejection of it swiftly, these MAGA Justices have delayed justice for the American people, hoping to permanently lock themselves in power and enact their agenda to take away our freedoms.

But Fayette County and Texas voters are onto them and their attempts to use Trump as their vehicle to cement, grow, and extend the power of billionaires over our federal judiciary. Our next president will likely appoint up to three Supreme Court Justices and countless others to critical lower courts. This November, it’s Fayette County and Texas voters’ turn to be the judge and turn out for our freedoms, families, and futures.
