Control Your Dogs
To the Editor:
This letter is written based on concerns I have about walking/jogging/bike riding. First of all, please correct me if I’m wrong, but do private citizens have free access to safely walk/jog/bike ride on public roads? I think so, as long as you do not trespass on one’s private property.
Recently I was forced “again” in the La Grange area to use protection against what I perceived an attack by two dogs. This was the third time this year I felt threatened by a dog or dogs.
Maybe some dogs just dislike me. No problem, just don’t run at me growling, snarling and barking in an intimidating manner. Period. As I said in a letter a few years ago addressing the same topic. I love dogs and would love to pet them and not go in defensive mode.
Simply put, some folks need to tidy up on their pet management and control their dogs from possible hurting someone and also help in avoiding a confrontation between folks simply wanting to get out and enjoy exercising.
