Concerned Driver

To the Editor:

This notice is to advise the citizens of Fayette County of two dangerous intersections, developing, at the ends of Country Club Drive, bordering the City of La Grange, and entering both Hwy 71 and Hwy 77.

I have lived in the Frisch Auf! subdivision for 15 years, and have seen the traffic on Country Club Drive increase steadily as drivers use it as a short cut between Hwy 71 and Hwy 77.

With the widening of both Hwy 71 and Hwy 77, now underway, it is creating a dangerous crossing hazard at both ends of Country Club Drive.

Of special interest, is the dead-end intersection of Country Club Drive at Hwy 71. It is very difficult to cross Hwy 71 to go west, especially during peak traffic hours, and when the old bridge, across the river, is opened to traffic it will be impossible to cross Hwy 71 and go west without some protection.

I hope plans are already underway to install flashing, warning, or stop lights at these two dangerous highway intersections.
