Campus Protests

To the editor:

The author of a recent eyewitness report on the protest at George Washington University asks at the end of his article, “What does America’s future look like if her universities, the grounds of education for so many young Americans, host protesters who champion her demise?”

American students have been deceived by educators who have taught them to accept lies of “American colonialism and imperialism.”

Hamas is and has been known for a long time as a terrorist organization. Why are American students supporting their terrorism?

Students have no right to pitch tents on campus grounds. The students who do so should be removed; jailed if necessary and/or expelled. These protests are not about free speech but attacks on civil liberties.

Hamas is the oppressor. Hamas attacked Israel viscously, unprovoked, and inhumanely on October 7, 2023. To support Hamas in any way is to aid them in their goal to take control over what does not belong to them.

Hamas is sponsored, funded, and weaponized by Iran who has been shouting “Death to America” since 1979.

Hamas is responsible for the demise of Gaza. Hamas has victimized Jews and is willingly sacrificing its own people in its hateful power grab.

Israel has a right to and should defend its citizens, its democracy and eliminate further threats to both.

Students who protest and accept the anti-Israel rhetoric are anti-democracy, anti-American, and anti-freedom. We are witnessing the result of the lack of factual U.S. and world history being taught.

Hamas is not the victim. Apparently, these college protestors have no knowledge of Israel’s history or have chosen to ignore it. Apparently, these college students do not understand Hamas. Hamas is using them.

Parents, college professors, students, along with government leaders have been blinded by the deceit of Hamas propaganda.

Hamas claims to want justice. How can they achieve justice from an agenda of hatred, jealousy, and violence? They have proven they are not able to lead their society in a prosperous, successful way. “A man reaps what he sows.”

Many parents, churches, and government representatives continue to sow confusion in America by accepting Hamas propaganda.

The few news reports of protestors and tent encampments being removed from campuses is encouraging. American citizens and authorities need to continue to stand against such attacks on freedom.

R.C. Sproul was recently quoted by Michael Quinn Sullivan in The Texas Minute: “It is one thing to believe in God; it is quite another to believe God.” 2 Chronicles 7:14.
