Another Great-Granddaughter for Devon Boehnke
Devon Boehnke, Darrell and Dana Kulak took off for Houston recently to attend a “Baby Reveal” party for Devon’s granddaughter Jenny Zuhn and her husband Aaron Zuhn. They had lots of fun visiting and then finding out Devon will have another great granddaughter.
Martin and Nancy Cherry are still enjoying having their daughter Anne Marie Cherry in a stay in between her teaching and playing engagements.
Attend Graduation
John and Debra Schwartzenburg along with James Ivy and I drove into Houston for the Hooding Ceremony at the South Texas College of Law in downtown. Andrea Russell, Debra and John’s niece and James and Joan’s cousin walked the stage in honor of completing her studies and receiving her doctor of jurisprudence degree.
The school had a very organized system set up to allow thirty graduates at a time and their limited invited guests to experience the honor of being hooded by a member of the facility. The allotted groups were ushered in and seated in a social distancing manner. Following the graduation the guests were again ushered out another door in a one way direction while the auditorium was cleaned for the next graduation group in a very organized fashion.
Andrea will be studying for her bar exam in July, but was able to take a little time out before hitting the books again to celebrate with her family. The family gathered at The Local Table restaurant in Cypress to celebrate with a big family meal. It was a great time visiting and catching up since it had been so long since everyone was able to assemble and just visit.
Rain
Rain has continued to fall in the Muldoon area. The ground has become very soggy and water is standing everywhere. Over nine and half inches have fallen during this wet spell. Some have had more, where others have had less. All the tanks are full and some running over.
There have been several who have had a few issues with snakes, turtles and various other critters that are seeking higher ground. A few have had some of these unwanted “guests” coming in a little too close for comfort.
The hogs are also seeking higher ground and have been crossing the roadways and have also been tearing up the wet pastures. Hog hunter Chris Joplin has taken a few more as they are moving through.
Out School Out
Be aware it is that time of year when school is coming to an end and the kids will be out and about in the area. Watch out for kids who will be home and moving around at odd times. Summer has begun.
