Accomplishments?
To the editor:
Radio and TV personalities have often referred to President Biden as a “do nothing” president. I beg to differ. Ordinarily, I don’t waste my time arguing political issues in an editorial column. However, there are important things of note accomplished by our current president: 1. Record influx of deadly drugs into our country 2. Allowed millions of illegals to freely enter our country (not counting the ones that were allowed to sneak in) 3. Successfully destroyed US energy independence 4. Created one of the worst inflations in our country’s history 5. Resurrected friendly relations with Iran, China and Muslim Nations 6. Protected the Biden Family from corruption charges (so far) 7. January 6 Capitol “riot” landed 380 people in Federal Prison 8. Negotiated the release of five US hostages from Iran in return for $6 billion in “ransom” The America I grew up in during the 1950s is dead. Death came when the Lord’s Prayer, Bible readings, and the Ten Commandments were taken out of public schools. Sixty years later we are governed by DC and State Leaders acting as a false god violating the First Commandment: “Thou shalt have no other gods before me”. The war against Christianity and anti-semitism is increasing in intensity.
The chaos in America will only increase as the warfare between “good” and “evil” continues. We the people are the cause of America’s problems by the leaders we elect. It’s time we wake up and vote for righteous candidates, not just along party lines. It’s never too late to do the right thing. Personally, I don’t care what Party is behind the person’s name as long as the candidates do what they stand for and promise: 1. A realistic foreign policy 2. Support a climate-skeptical but pro-environment policy 3. Tough on crime 4. Demand a leak-proof border 5. Lower taxes 6. Dissolve unnecessary public-sector jobs and seriously drain the swamp 7.Take serious steps to balance the budget That’s only a start. What is going on in Washington (and state legislation) has to stop. Taking money from people who have earned it to give to people who haven’t in exchange for their votes is not only bad economics and bad politics, it’s called stealing.
There is no point in getting upset over politics. Personally, I pray, seek God’s direction on the right candidate and I vote. Those who don’t vote are in reality casting their vote against God’s choice. VOTE: Our first president, George Washington made a covenant with the Almighty God based on Genesis 17. He said, “You’ll be our God, and we will be your people.” Proverbs 29:2: “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked rule, the people mourn.”
Seems like that Bible verse pretty well sums up our political, economic and financial status of America. Spend a few serious moments and listen to what each candidate is saying. Additionally, review what their political party platform represents. If it does not agree with God’s Word, find another candidate to bless with your vote. Chances are you won’t find the perfect candidate, but ask God to direct you and vote.
