Freshman Brooke Ulrich has grabbed the starting pitcher’s role for the La Grange softball team. And even though she’s young, she’s played like a veteran and is a big reason the Lady Leps have won 10 of their last 12 games.
After winning two games last week against Somerville, the Round Top-Carmine baseball team lost Tuesday to Milano 12-2. William Neese pitched a complete game for the Cubs Tuesday and also drove in two runs.
The Fayetteville baseball team defeated Ganado Tuesday 8-6. Jack Schley, Dylan Henneke and Kole Schmitt combined on the pitching effort for the Lions, with Henneke throwing three innings of onerun ball.
The Flatonia baseball team beat Schulenburg in walk-off fashion Tuesday as Yandel Manzano drove in Zayden Perez with the winning run in a 5-4 Bulldogs victory. Beck Zimmerman had three hits (two doubles and a triple) and scored three runs for Flatonia and he also pitched five innings.
The Flatonia softball team blasted Schulenburg Tuesday 16-1 to improve to 3-1 in district. Jalee Trussell pitched a complete game with six strikeouts, and she also had two hits herself.
The La Grange baseball team improved its record to 6-6 this season with a 9-0 victory over the Texans Homeschool Tuesday. Four La Grange pitchers combined on the shutout.
Fayetteville senior Lawson Fritsch is reaching new heights in pole vault. Fritsch cleared a personal best 16 feet to win the Woodland College Park meet last week.
