The Flatonia baseball team beat Schulenburg in walk-off fashion Tuesday as Yandel Manzano drove in Zayden Perez with the winning run in a 5-4 Bulldogs victory.
Beck Zimmerman had three hits (two doubles and a triple) and scored three runs for Flatonia and he also pitched five innings.
Blake Kessler pitched the final two innings, allowing no runs, to earn the win for Flatonia.
Titan Targac and Yandel Manzano also each had two hits Tuesday.
For Schulenburg, Aaron
See Janecek and Brycen Schramek combined on the pitching effort. Janecek also had two hits.
Connor Lichnovsky hit a dubble and Jayse Janda drove in two for the Shorthorns.
The Flatonia Bulldog baseball team earned two district victories last week. Last Friday, the Bulldogs beat Louise 14-1. Earlier in the week on Tuesday, Flatonia defeated Bloomington 19-0.
Titan Targac picked up the win on the mound vs. the Louise Hornets. He pitched five innings and alllowed one hit & had eleven K’s. Blake Kessler threw the last two innings and gave up one run and had three K’s.
Targac led Flatonia at the plate vs. the Hornets. He had three hits (triple & two doubles) with two RBI’s and three runs. Caysen Perez & Tripp Bowling both had two hits. Perez had four RBI’s & Bowling two.
Yandel Manzano hit a solo home run for the Dogs and Henri Vincik hit a double vs Louise.
Beck Zimmerman notched a win on the bump vs Bloomington. He and Kullen Kutac pitched a combined four inning no hitter. Zimmerman had eight K’s & Kutac had two K’s.
The offense vs. the Bobcats was sparked by Zimmerman with three hits (inside the park home run & two triples). He also knocked in four RBI’s and scored four runs. Perez also totaled three hits, three RBI’s, & two runs.
Diego Ramirez, Yandel Mazano, & Bowling each had two hits and scored two runs each. Vincik added a three RBI triple to close out the offense attack.
Flatonia plays at home Friday, March 21 at 6 p.m.
Next Tuesday, March 25 the Dogs will host the Ganado Indians.
