The La Grange softball team grabbed their second victory of the season, blasting Smithson Valley 11-4 Tuesday on the road. Alyssa Liccioni hit a homer and a double and Marissa Gonzales pitched three innings of scoreless ball.

The La Grange baseball team fought back before losing their home opener 9-6 to Rockdale Tuesday in extra innings. The loss drops the Leps to 1-4 overall.

The Fayetteville boys basketball team marched into the fourth round of the 1A playoffs with a 45-41 comefrom- behind victory over Moulton Tuesday. The Lions trailed by 12 points after the first quarter but climbed back into the game thanks to their defense, and they finally won it by outscoring Moulton by 10 points in the fourth quarter.

The La Grange boys won the team title at the Ganado meet Feb. 22 with 92 points, edging runner-up Hallettsville by eight.

The La Grange baseball team opened its season with four games at the Salado Tournament last week. The Leps lost to Gateway 7-3, lost to Round Rock 11-4 and lost to Salado 11-1 before winning their tourney finale 9-2 against Jarrell.
