Hundreds came out to celebrate the 4th of July at The Remnant Church in La Grange. Everyone enjoyed free hot dogs, watermelon and sno-cones. Children had a blast and stayed cool on the waterslide, splash pad and dunking booth. Many tried their hand at winning one of the games, including kickball, cornhole, three legged races, jump rope contest, and watermelon seed spittin’ contest. At dark, a spectacular fireworks show ended the night with a bang.
The La Grange Intermediate Little League All-Stars beat New Braunfels Tuesday 7-5 to advance to Thursday’s Texas East State Tournament Title Game.
La Grange has not lost any games in the double elimination tourney, so they have two chances, if needed, to clinch the title.
The tournament is being played in Rosenberg. Team members include Luke Behnke, Tanner Finch, Shepherd Gunn, Aiden Harbers, Chase Havel, Collin Horton, Candyn Janca, Brayden Johnson, Ethan Keilers, Ryder Klesel, Graham Adams and Teague Weinert. Manager is Jay Janca.
