F The City Council meeting for January has been rescheduled for Thursday, Jan. 12 at 7 p.m.

At Senior Connections, we have had our ups and downs, just like everyone else, but this year we started our Strategic Planning, so, for us, it has been a good year, because it sets us up for more good things to keep happening.

W The Faith Lutheran High School Spring Raffle is just around the corner. The board of directors is currently looking for valuable items or monetary donations to be used in the raffle.

In 2012 the iconic Red & White building on Fayetteville’s Historic Square came on the market. Joan Herring called the realtor and booked an appointment to view the listing. She wasn’t there long before she called her husband who was busy working at home. “Jerry,” she said, “come into town right now! We are buying the Red & White!” Joan’s idea for the building was an inn, which she eventually created on the second floor. In Houston she had orchestrated pop-up art exhibits and, given that the first floor needed to be a retail space, the idea for the Red & White Gallery was born.

Smoking a brisket is one of those things that any decent country boy should know how to do. Kind of like catching a fish and knowing how to gut it, filet it, batter it in cornmeal and seasoning, and fry it in a cast iron skillet over a campfire.

And Then A New Day staff and young adults organize the event by preparing the set up, carefully crafting sensory activities, and being team leaders throughout the day to make sure that everyone is comfortable and has everything they need to have their special visit with Santa.
